Well Water Conditioners

Wells are a vital part of California’s water supply. According to the California Department of Water Resources, around 40% of the state’s water comes from wells. The percentage increases up to 60% in dry years. Moreover, the local authorities are constructing around 7,000 to 15,000 new wells every year to meet the state’s ever-growing water needs.

Well water tends to be naturally high in minerals and nutrients, but the United States Environmental Protection Agency also warns of the contaminants in it. These include microorganisms, organic chemicals, nitrate, fluoride, and heavy metals like copper, lead, arsenic, chromium, and cadmium.

Although public water systems (are required to) maintain strict monitoring and use treatment procedures (wherever required) to maintain water quality, violations aren’t uncommon. Moreover, research estimates tell that over 1.3 million Californians get their water supply from domestic wells. Private wells are more prone to contamination, as per the US EPA.

For all these reasons and more, Californians relying on groundwater must install well water conditioners in their homes.
